Choose a short, easy-to-remember domain name – If you have a long business name you may need to abbreviate your domain name. The shorter the domain name, the easier it is for new contacts to remember.
Your domain name should be identifiable – Use your business name, your company's catch-phrase or tagline, as long as it's not too long. If your business name is your own name, use either your own name or the types of products or services you offer: use whatever your customers most identify you by.
Try different variations – If the domain name you choose is already in use, first try hyphenating it, or search for a domain name using a different dot ending: e.g. .biz, .info, .me, .co.zw, .name.
Don't forget to register your business name first – There's nothing worse than paying for all your marketing material only to find your business name has already been registered by someone else.
